Dr Lisa Cameron MP awarded Parliamentarian of the Month
We are delighted to present Dr Lisa Cameron, Member of Parliament for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow with the Cruelty Free International Parliamentarian of the Month award for July 2018 for the MP’s tireless support in ending animal testing.
Dr Cameron has championed ending cosmetics testing worldwide, speaking passionately at our Brussels Banniversary event celebrating the 5th anniversary of the EU animal cosmetics testing ban.
The Chair of the All-party Parliamentary Dog Advisory Welfare Group has led the way on ending cruel and unnecessary experiments on dogs in the UK. Dr Cameron was crucial in organising a Westminster Hall debate, speaking out against the use of dogs in UK animal tests. The MP also attended our #LeadTheWay Westminster Dog walk last week.
Dr Lisa Cameron said, “I am honoured to receive Cruelty Free International’s Parliamentarian of the Month award. I will continue to advocate an end to the cruel and unnecessary tests that dogs and countless other animals must endure.”
Our #LeadTheWay campaign urges the Home Office to end the use of dogs in experiments in the UK by 2020. If you haven’t already, join the more than 20,000 people who have signed our petition to help make that goal a reality.
