Stop airlines transporting monkeys for animal experiments
Our international campaign is stopping airlines from flying monkeys around the world for animal research
The issue
These monkeys originate from countries such as Mauritius, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, Tanzania and Barbados. Some are trapped in the wild while others are bred in captivity, usually in large-scale facilities.
They are ripped from their family groups, packed into small wooden crates and travel as cargo, predominantly on passenger air flights, on extremely long journeys to animal research laboratories around the world.

Airlines
Cruelty Free International leads the global campaign to end these shipments of monkey misery. Thanks to our campaign, many passenger airlines have distanced themselves from this cruel trade. This includes major airlines which now refuse to transport monkeys destined for animal experiment laboratories or breeding facilities:
- American Airlines
- British Airways
- United Airlines
- Virgin Atlantic
- Northwest Airlines
- Qantas Airways
- South African Airways
- Delta Airlines
- Eva Air
- China Airlines

Cruel airlines
Sadly, a small number of airlines, including Air France, continue to be involved in this ugly business.
Find out which airlines are still transporting monkeys destined for animal research laboratories and ask them to stop.
