Sue Hayman receives our Leadership Award
We recognise former Shadow Environment Secretary for her contribution to ending animal tests
Yesterday we presented former UK Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Sue Hayman, with the Cruelty Free International Leadership Award in recognition of her work towards ending animal testing.
As Shadow Secretary, Sue was the architect of Labour's Animal Welfare Manifesto which included a comprehensive and progressive set of pledges for animals in laboratories.
Our Director of Public Affairs, Kerry Postlewhite said:" We will greatly miss Sue's passion and energy in parliament. Prior to becoming an MP, Sue was a lifelong campaigner for animals and she carried this commitment on into her work in Westminster. She took every opportunity to speak up for these all too often forgotten animals and balanced ambition with reality in perfect measure. We know that she will continue to be a cruelty free advocate in everything she does. Thank you so much, Sue."
