Our North America Campaign Manager, Monica Engebretson, is a featured speaker at a congressional briefing on the Humane Cosmetics Act in conjunction with Representatives Martha McSally and Don Beyer, the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, and others.

The congressional briefing enables us to communicate information with policy-makers. Monica will be providing information about the Humane Cosmetics Act to members of congress and their staff to gain support and new co-sponsors. She will also be discussing the global trend to end cosmetics testing for animals, due to the global campaigns of Cruelty Free International, and how the Humane Cosmetics Act can help the US catch up.

Just a few weeks ago Cruelty Free International was joined by Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and big US brands The Body Shop and Paul Mitchell to welcome the introduction of the Humane Cosmetics Act. The bill would end animal testing for cosmetics after a one year phase in and would further phase out the sale of animal tested cosmetics in three years.
