Secret Air France flight transporting monkeys for experiments
Tell Air France to stop the cruelty
Our investigation team has uncovered shocking information about secret monkey shipments on Air France flights from Mauritius.
On 26th April 2017, 120 long-tailed macaque monkeys were shipped by Air France over 10,000 miles from Mauritius to the USA via Paris. The monkeys were crammed into small wooden transit crates for over 37 hours as they were transported from a monkey farm to a laboratory in the US for use in poisoning tests.
Sarah Kite, Cruelty Free International Director of Special Projects, says: “While holidaymakers on Air France Flight 463 were enjoying in-flight comfort and relaxing after their holiday on the idyllic island of Mauritius, they would have been totally unaware that just below their feet 120 unwilling monkeys, torn from their families were suffering in the dark and noisy cargo hold. At the end of this nightmare journey, these intelligent and sensitive animals were destined to spend their lives in a metal cage thousands of miles away from their jungle homes, and likely subjected to experiments that can cause them pain and suffering.”
Air France is the only known European passenger airline that still transports monkeys for experiments. The airline flies thousands of monkeys to laboratories in Europe and the USA every year to suffer and die in cruel experiments.
Please tell Air France to stop the cruelty.
