Cruelty free cosmetics take to the stage at UN Global Festival of Action
#BunnyOnTour begins in Bonn

Bonn, Germany was the first stop on our 2019 Bunny Tour to end cosmetics animal testing globally.
As well as bringing your Forever Against Animal Testing voices to the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture to urge Germany to take a lead in securing international agreement, we also took part in the United Nations Global Festival of Action with campaigners from all over the world who are finding inspiring ways to harness people-power to help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We believe that manufacturing and buying cruelty free products, including cosmetics, is one of the ways in which Sustainable Development Goal 12 can be realised. SDG 12 is all about each and every consumer and company doing what we can to shop and sell responsibly and ethically. The time has come to end animal testing for cosmetics full stop. That’s the responsible and ethical thing to do. It’s what consumers all over the world want – we saw that with the amazing 8.3 million signatures from 60 countries on our Forever Against Animal Testing petition with The Body Shop, and we see it repeatedly in consumer attitudes surveys and polls.
Speaking on stage at the Festival together with our #BunnyOnTour, I urged the UN and its member states to listen and coordinate worldwide action to leave this cruel and outdated practice behind everywhere and forever.
We’re working hard to make sure that cruelty-free products are embedded within SDG 12 and to secure a global end to testing everyday products like cosmetics on animals.
Aiming to secure UN-leadership to end cosmetics animal testing worldwide is a bold and ambitious move that has ignited and reignited passion for this issue in so many countries. More and more governments around the world are in the process of enacting or are considering laws against cosmetics animal testing, and I am continually inspired by the support we receive from our supporters new and old and, increasingly, from decision-makers in politics and business who agree that the time has come for a global line to be drawn. Together we can do this!
Watch out for the next stop on our Bunny Tour to end cosmetics animal testing.
